The story so far

In 2025, something magical happened in school halls across the South of England. Over 40 primary schools picked a Christmas song, got their children together, and created something incredible. The videos spread through communities. Parents voted in their tens of thousands. Teachers loved it. Children loved it. The whole thing was just magical.

Over 50,000 votes were cast. We absolutely loved every second of it. The Big Sing was such a success that we knew we had to bring it back bigger and better. So for 2026, we have doubled the prize fund. Every penny goes straight to school funds, for music, instruments, trips, or whatever the school needs most.

How it works

Four steps from your school hall to the South of England stage.

We designed this to take teachers minutes, not hours. Sign up, film, upload, share. That’s it. Last year’s primary schools told us the hardest part was choosing the song.

Register your school

A 60-second form. Tell us who you are and how many children are taking part. You'll get a confirmation and your upload link by email.

Record your performance

Any Christmas song, any year group, any arrangement. Film in landscape (not portrait) on any phone or camera — that lets us reshare highlights on social. What matters is the performance, not the production.

Upload and get approved

Drop the file into your school dashboard. Our team reviews every entry and approves new videos within 48 hours.

Share and collect votes

Every school gets its own page to share with parents, families and friends. The community votes. The most loved primary schools go through to the final judging.

The Prize Fund

£10,000 up for grabs. £5,000 for the winner.

The top 12 primary schools share the fund. Every winner walks away with real money for their school — for music, instruments, trips, or whatever they need most.

How the winner is decided

The public vote determines the top three primary schools. From there, the Brackenwood judging panel reviews those three performances and decides who takes first, second and third place. The best school wins, with the community getting the final say on who makes it through.
